American National Standards Institute

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) anoo9ucnes that Constance Matzenbacher is now a qualified ANSI Assessor for the ANSI Certificate Accreditation Program (ANSI-CAP).  This accreditation helps organizations document that their program meets an American National Standard for quality. When the program earns ANSI accreditation, customers-and their customers-can have confidence that the certificates awarded to their students represent the best in quality education and training.

Several industries and a number of government agencies already require ANSI accredited certifications for their new hires-and many are considering similar requirements for certificates. Among those that have sought ANSI accreditation for their certificate programs are the U.S. Army, Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and SCIPP International.

US Technical Advisory Group on Learning Services nominates Constance Matzenbacher to ISO Working Group, Berlin, Germany November 11-12, 2007

The American National Standards Institute's Technical Advisory Group for standards on learning services nominates Constance B. Matzenbacher as a subject matter expert to represent the US at the first working group meeting in Berlin, Germany. The working group is chartered to develop international standards for providers of non-formal learning services for adults. The other two representatives are Jennifer Naughton, American Society of Training and Development, and Michael Lymbach, Wilson Learning Worldwide. The meeting is to be held in Berlin, November 11-12, 2007.


International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) elects Constance Matzenbacher President-Elect

IACET is a non-profit association dedicated to qualify education providers that meet strict continuing education guidelines created in 1968. IACET certification is the standard learners seek for quality. IACET's Criteria and Guidelines are the core of thousands of educational programs worldwide. Constance B. Matzenbacher's 3-year term begins September, 2007. Ms. Matzenbacher brings over 20 years of experience in global continuing education and training. She is a former Treasurer and Board of Directors for IACET and also a former Chair of the IACET Commission that authorizes accredited training providers. She is President and CEO of WV Consulting, an adult and continuing education professional services firm located in Reston, VA.


American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) rolls out a new Continuing Education product - ASHA BookTalk

ASHA introduces an exciting new continuing education product, ASHA BookTalk. This new product offers ASHA Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for participating in a book discussion group. This fun, flexible, and cost-effective technique of earning CEUs is a real hit among busy professionals.

The marketing plan and new branding comes from the cooperative assistance of WV Consulting, 5-X-B, a premier graphic design firm from Los Angeles, CA, and Summer Breault, a marketing communication specialist also from Los Angeles, CA.


International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) meets with Shanghai Delegation of Continuing Education

Dr. Ellen Fagan, President-Elect, IACET, Constance Matzenbacher, Past Treasurer and Commission Chair, and Sara Meier, Executive Director, IACET, met with the Shanghai Delegation for Continuing Education. The history of the Continuing Education Unit in the United States, the IACET Criteria & Guidelines and the Application Process was shared. Also discussed were the challenges facing Continuing Education in the US as well trends in the industry.




ISO/TC 232 Educational Services Berlin March 26-27, 2007

Constance Matzenbacher, President and CEO of WV Consulting, has been invited to be one of seven U.S. delegates slated to update the ISO/TC 232 Educational Services in Berlin on March 26-27, 2007. What a great honor to be part of this delegation as the standards shape global lifelong learning.

ANSI US/TAG (Technical Advisory Group) invited Ms. Matzenbacher to represent IACET. The other representatives are from ASTD, Wilson Learning Worldwide, University of Pennsylvania, Auburn Career Center, and ISBTPI.
