Congratulations on your appointment as a delegate to technical meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) or International Organization for Standardization (ISO). You have been chosen for your competence in a given field and your ability to effectively present the U.S. viewpoint as part of a delegation to an international standards forum.

Dr. Mark W. Hurwitz, CAE

•    knowledgeable about all types of continuing professional education from business and industry, to CME, to healthcare
•    experienced at evaluating continuing education and training processes and recommending improvements and efficiencies
•    an expert with various continuing education delivery systems including online delivery and other distance learning formats
•    highly knowledgeable about standards for quality CE programming based on the standards of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)
•    skilled at developing marketing plans
•    a sound financial manager
•    a recognized leader in the field of continuing professional education

I have worked with Connie for many years in her volunteer leadership roles in IACET. Recently, I hired her as a consultant to evaluate the continuing education program I manage and to provide an extensive multi-year marketing plan for our program. I could not have been more pleased with the working relationship we had and the results of her work. The recommendations she provided are
moving my program to the next level.

I have known Connie Matzenbacher for at least five years now. She was an extremely valuable asset to IACET during my tenure with the International Association of Contiuing Education and Training (IACET). She is a sound thinker, a great tactician and solid on process. She understands the envirionment IACET encourages others to implement and has been instrumental in defining standards that IACET promulgates. Also her attention to detail, as IACET's Treasurer, was truly invaluable as IACET gained significant financial stability during that period.

I recommend Connie and her skill set to anyone wishing to improve their education process and offerings. Plus, she is also a truly nice person with whom to work.

I had the privilege of working with Connie for several years when I served as Director of GM Organizational and Employee Development. General Motors was searching for a partner firm to assist the Corporation with its technical training needs. Following significant research and on-site interviewing our staff selected General Physics Corporation of Columbia, Maryland as our partner.

While Connie was not part of the original management team at the onset of the partnership, she soon became a key player and was appointed by General Physics as the Manager-in-Charge of the General Motors account, headquartered in Troy, Michigan. In this capacity, I witnessed her strong leadership skills and professional approach to training of GM employees involved in the
manufacturing, engineering and quality control functions of the Corporation. Under Connie's direction, her staff met all deadlines for the design and deliver of training courseware. They incorporated leading edge technology into the subject matter and did so in an economic manner. In the rare instance when a design or delivery problem occurred, Connie quickly notified GM management and took steps to resolve the issue.

Over the many months of working on a daily basis with Connie, I grew to appreciate her interpersonal communication skills and her attention to the people side of management. I have maintained a lasting friendship with Connie and her husband Mike over the years and look forward to hearing of her future success.
